USB stands for Universal Serial Bus, which was designed to replace older serial and parallel ports and runs a range of peripherals, i.e. Keyboards, Mice, Joysticks, Modems and Monitors etc. USB is faster, because the data speed of the USB is around 100 times faster than a serial connection, currently between 1.5 (low speed) and 12 Mbps (high speed), with the new future standard, USB 2.0, running up to 480 Mbps. Using USB hubs you can easily connect up to a maximum of 127 devices on your computer. USB is easy to use because Windows 98 (and SE), ME / 2000, XP and Mac OS will automatically recognise the newly installed devices - and you won't have to reboot after installing. The maximum cable length between USB devices is 5 Mtrs, with a maximum 25 Mtrs, achieved using several USB Line Boosters. Suitable for all USB Printers - HP / Lexmark / Epson / Canon etc .
